Laying there she willed herself to stop crying. Every thought in her brain simply yelled stop. Her sobs slowly started to silence as she felt Christopher around her. She let him wipe away her tears until there was nothing more than the puffy, red eyes and the tear stained cheeks.
Nicole wanted to push Christopher off, she wanted to yell at him but she couldn't. This boy had changed her life. He was trying to help her yet she pushed him away every time. He had even saved her life when the earthquake came. Even if Nicole got Christopher out of her life, the scars would remain, along with the most recent ones. The scars would stay and be a constant reminded of him.
Christopher said everything was going to be okay. She couldn't imagine that everything was going to be okay. Nicole couldn't imagine there was a guy out there that would want to spend his life with her. Sure, it wasn't like she hadn't ever had a guy in her life. She had many but hookups and one night stands were completely different. You can't expect relationships out of that.
None of this Nicole said out loud. She listened to Christopher's lies with a fake semi-smile on her face. Pain was something she no longer wanted to cause the boy and silence and fake smiles were the only solution that she had in mind to stop his pain.
She had delt with so much pain she rather take away all of his if it caused her more. When he spoke again it suprised her, she hadn't realized she had said anything out loud.
"I"m fine," she choked out. Nicole's throat felt dry, like she needed water or something. But she mentally shrugged it off. "Maybe we should just sleep or something," she finally suggested, hoping that her dreams would take her out of this place.
